Our story began in 1992 when Softex Inc. was founded by IBM veteran Mahendra Bhansali and current CEO Apurva Bhansali with a mission to provide innovative security-focused software products and solutions for all computing devices. 

Softex Inc. established itself as one of the top security solution providers with innovative products focused on persistent theft detection security, enterprise single sign on, identity and access management, data protection of self-encrypting drives, and other technologies.  Softex pioneered a class of theft prevention and recovery software that is embedded on Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) chips and/or non-viewable portions of hard disk drives at the point of manufacture, and Softex holds many patents directly related to this technology. 

Over the years, companies have incorporated Softex Inc.’s persistent theft detection technology into their products without licensing the technology from Softex Inc. and without its permission. Realizing that it did not have the know-how or funding to stop infringers on its own, it teamed up with Softex LLC.  Softex LLC, with help from Softex Inc., is now leading the effort to license and enforce Softex’s persistent theft detection technology.
